【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardestablishesguidelinesfortheexchangeofinformationbetweenculturalheritageinstitutions.Insimpletermsthiscanbedefinedasthecuratedknowledgeofmuseums.Amoredetaileddefinitioncanbearticulatedbydefiningboththeintendedscope,abroadandmaximallyinclusivedefinitionofgeneralprinciples,andthepracticalscope,whichisdefinedbyreferencetoasetofspecificmuseumdocumentationstandardsandpractices.TheintendedscopeofthisInternationalStandardisdefinedastheexchangeandintegrationofheterogeneousscientificdocumentationrelatingtomuseumcollections.Thisdefinitionrequiresfurtherelaboration:-Theterm“scientificdocumentation”isintendedtoconveytherequirementthatthedepthandqualityofdescriptiveinformationthatcanbehandledbythisInternationalStandardneedbesufficientforseriousacademicresearch.Thisdoesnotmeanthatinformationintendedforpresentationtomembersofthegeneralpublicisexcluded,butratherthatthisInternationalStandardisintendedtoprovidethelevelofdetailandprecisionexpectedandrequiredbymuseumprofessionalsandresearchersinthefield.-Theterm“museumcollections”isintendedtocoveralltypesofmaterialcollectedanddisplayedbymuseumsandrelatedinstitutions,asdefinedbyICOM2).Thisincludescollections,sites,andmonumentsrelatingtofieldssuchassocialhistory,ethnography,archaeology,fineandappliedarts,naturalhistory,historyofsciencesandtechnology.-Thedocumentationofcollectionsincludesthedetaileddescriptionofindividualitemswithincollections,groupsofitemsandcollectionsasawhole.ThisInternationalStandardisspecificallyintendedtocovercontextualinformation(i.e.thehistorical,geographical,andtheoreticalbackgroundthatgivesmuseumcollectionsmuchoftheirculturalsignificanceandvalue).-Theexchangeofrelevantinformationwithlibrariesandarchives,andharmonizationwiththeirmodels,fallswithintheintendedscopeofthisInternationalStandard.-Informationrequiredsolelyfortheadministrationandmanagementofculturalinstitutions,suchasinformationrelatingtopersonnel,accountingandvisitorstatistics,fallsoutsidetheintendedscopeofthisInternationalStandard.Thepracticalscope3)ofthisInternationalStandardisthesetofreferencestandardsformuseumdocumentationthathavebeenusedtoguideandvalidateitsdevelopment.ThisInternationalStandardcoversthesamedomainofdiscourseastheunionofthesereferencedocuments;thismeansthatdatacorrectlyencodedaccordingtoanyofthesereferencedocumentscanbeexpressedinacompatibleform,withoutanylossofmeaning.
