【摘要】:Wellsusedinground-waterqualityinvestigationsormonitoringprogramsaregenerallypurgedpriortosampling(Note1).Purgingisdonetominimizethebiasassociatedwithstagnantwaterinthewell,whichgenerallydoesnotaccuratelyreflectambientground-waterchemistry(Note2).Note18212;Somesamplingmethods,suchaspassivesampling,donotrequirethepracticeofpurgingpriortosamplecollection(1,2).3Note28212;Thisguidedoesnotaddressthepracticeofpost-samplepurging(purgingagainaftersamplingiscompleted),whichisintendedforpurposesotherthantheminimizationofbiasassociatedwithstagnantwaterinthewell.Therearevariousmethodsforpurging.Eachpurgingmethodmayhaveadifferentvolumeofinfluencewithintheaquiferorscreenedinterval.Therefore,asamplecollectedafterpurgingbyanyonemethodisnotnecessarilyequivalenttosamplescollectedafterpurgingbytheothermethods.Theselectionoftheappropriatemethodwillbedependentonanumberoffactors,whichshouldbedefinedduringthedevelopmentofthesamplingandanalysisplan.Thisguidedescribesthemethodsavailableanddefinesthecircumstancesunderwhicheachmethodmaybeappropriate.1.1Thisguidecoversmethodsforpurgingwellsusedforgound-waterqualityinvestigationsandmonitoringprograms.Thesemethodscouldbeusedforothertypesofprogramsbutarenotaddressedinthisguide.1.2Thisguideappliesonlytowellssampledatthewell-head.1.3Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetitleofthisguidemeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
