【摘要】:Crudeoil,petroleum,petroleumproducts,additives,biofuels,andlubricantsareroutinelyanalyzedfortheirelementalcontentsuchaschlorine,nitrogen,hydrogen,phosphorus,sulfur,andvariousmetalsusingavarietyofanalyticaltechniques.Someofthesemethodsrequirelittletonomethodcalibration;someothersrequireonlysimpleonestepcalibration;whileothersrequireelaboratecalibrationroutinebeforetheproductisanalyzedforitselementalcontent.Fairlyoftenitcanbeshownthattheroundrobinresultsbyaco-operatorareallbiasedwithrespecttothosefromotherlaboratories.Presumably,thefailuretofollowgoodlaboratorypracticesandinstructionsinthetestmethodscanbeacausalfactorofsucherrors.Afurtherconsequenceisanunnecessarilylargereproducibilityestimateorthedatabeingdroppedfromthestudyasanoutlier.Anothercauseofsuchdiscrepanciescouldbedifferentorinadequatecalibrationpracticeusedinthelaboratory.Mosttestmethodsspelloutthecalibrationrequirementsbutoftendonotquotethefrequencyrequiredlettingthelaboratoriesusegoodlaboratorypracticesforthistask.Thus,uniformpracticeforinstrumentcalibrationwouldbebeneficialinstandardizingthetestproceduresandobtainingconsistentresultsacrossthelaboratories.CommitteeD02hasalreadyissuedstandardpracticesforuniformsamplepreparation(D7455),standardoperatingproceduresforICP-AES(D7260)andXRF(D7343)aswellasstandardqualityassuranceprotocol(D6792).Thisguideshouldbeconsideredasacontinuingeffortonbehalfofthissubcommitteetoachievestandardizedpracticesinallpartsofananalyticalsequence.1.1Thisguidecoversdifferentwaysbywhichthetestmethodsusedforelementalanalysisofpetroleumproductandlubricantsamplesarecalibratedbeforethesampleanalysis.1.2Uniformpracticefortestmethodcalibrationisbeneficialinstandardizingtheprocedures,andobtainingconsistentresultsacrossdifferentlaboratories.1.3Thisguideincludesonlythebasicstepsforgenerallyencounteredinstrumenttypes.Anythingoutoftheordinarymayrequirespecialprocedures.Seeindividualtestmethodsforinstructionstohandlesuchsituations.1.4Thisguideisnotasubstituteforathoroughunderstandingoftheactualtestmethodtobeused,caveatsitcontains,andadditionalinstrumentpreparationthatmayberequired.1.5Theusershouldnotexpandthescopeofthetestmethodstomaterialsorconcentrationsoutsidethescopeofthetestmethodsbeingused.1.6Thisguideshouldalsobeapplicabletosamplepreparationofnon-petroleumbasedbio-fuelsforelementalanalysis.WorkisunderwayontheseaspectsinSubcommitteeD02.03.Asmoreinformationbecomesavailable,itwillbeaddedtothisstandard.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
