【摘要】:Thedeterminationiscarriedoutbyconvertingthecarbonylcompoundstooximesbyreactionwithfreehydroxylamineliberatedinamixtureofhydroxylammoniumchlorideandpotassiumhydroxide.Theexcessalkaliistitratedwithhydrochloricacidsolution,eithercolorimetricallyorpotentiometrically.Themethodisapplicabletoessentialoilswhichcontaincarbonylcompounds(especiallyketones,excludingmethylketones)whicharedifficulttoconverttooximesbythemethodspecifiedinISO1279.Themethodisnotapplicabletoessentialoilswhichcontainsubstantialamountsofestersofotheralkali-sensitiveconstituents.
