【摘要】:Structuralplatestructuresfunctionstructurallyasaflexibleringthatissupportedbyandinteractswiththecompactedsurroundingsoil.Thesoilplacedaroundthestructureisthusanintegralpartofthestructuralsystem.Itisthereforeimportanttoensurethatthesoilstructureismadeupofacceptablematerialandiswellconstructed.FieldverificationofsoilstructureacceptabilityusingTestMethodsD1556,D2167,D2922,orD2937,asapplicable,andcomparingtheresultswitheitherTestMethodsD698orD1557,inaccordancewiththespecificationsforeachproject,isthemostreliablebasisforinstallationofanacceptablestructure.Therequireddensityandmethodofmeasurementarenotspecifiedbythispractice,butmustbeestablishedinthespecificationsforeachproject.1.1Thispracticecoversprocedures,soils,andsoilplacementfortheproperinstallationofcorrugatedsteelstructuralplatepipe,pipe-arches,arches,andunderpassesproducedtoSpecificationA761/A761M,ineithertrenchorembankmentinstallations.Atypicaltrenchinstallationandatypicalembankment(projection)installationareshowninFigs.1and2,respectively.Structuralplatestructuresasdescribedhereinarethosestructuresfactoryfabricatedinplateformandboltedtogetheronsitetoprovidetherequiredshape,size,andlengthofstructure.ThispracticeappliestostructuresdesignedinaccordancewithPracticeA796/A796M.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsshallberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.SIunitsareshowninbracketsinthetextforclarity,buttheyaretheapplicablevalueswhentheinstallationistobeperformedusingSIunits.FIG.1TypicalTrenchInstallationFIG.2TypicalEmbankment(Projection)Installation
